Joint Venturing When You’re Not the Product Owner
Just because you’re not the owner of a product doesn’t mean you can’t still create partnerships with other marketers where you both benefit financially. As an affiliate, you should be building a list in your niche with an opt in page.
When you have a list, you have clout – something to barter with. You can approach a product owner with a joint venture deal where you promote his product to your list, in exchange for him giving you a higher cut of the commission than normal.
If they won’t budge on the commission, but you still feel like it would convert well to your list, then you can see if they’ll throw in a bonus of sorts, or give your list a slight discount (making you look good in the eyes of your list members).
If you have talent, but no list, no reputation, and no product, then you can approach another marketer and see if your talents might be something they’ll need where you can have a share in the profit pie.
For instance, if you know how to write, offer to create a product from scratch for free as your portion of the joint venture deal. They’ll use their reputation and existing list, and you’ll both market the product for a share of the sales.
If you don’t want to write a full eBook, then offer to write a short bonus report he can give away as an added freebie if he’ll provide you with a higher commission than your competition receives.
