When you start marketing on the Internet, you’re going to quickly realise it’s not a solo venture – even though your business gets its wings as a one-man (or woman) operation.
Eventually, you’ll come to notice that people are pushing products in pairs, or groups – marketers pulling their weight together to build an even greater buzz for a product launch, where everyone benefits financially from the agreement.
This is what’s known as joint venturing. Joint ventures are agreements between two or more marketers who all bring something to the table and split the profits (but it’s not always 50/50).
You can create joint ventures as an affiliate or a product owner. The only ground rule is that everyone brings something to the table (even if that something is just a name that others will recognise as an authority figure in the industry).
As your success grows, you’ll be approached by others who want to ride your coattails and have you help them usher in a higher number of sales. But until you’re a known figure in your niche, you may have to do some of the approaching – asking other marketers to come on board for a short or long-term mutually beneficial agreement.
Short-term joint ventures can last a day, a week, a month, or even longer. Long-term joint ventures can last indefinitely…forever if you choose, or until you decide to part ways with a buyout of the other person’s stake in the agreement.
